Week 1, Day 4

This was a really fun run. We had plenty of time to stretch and we both felt really good before hand. The map is not up to date and shows dirt and woods, but now it is a paved trail that is 2 miles total leading over to A Street. It doesn’t loop, so we went out and back. The trail is very nice because on one side of the trail they left soft, smooth gravel which was a BIG plus on the ol’ knees. I didn’t think we would get much under 14 PR with the “Run/Walk” beginning program, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that with each run, we are getting a little faster & running a little farther. The funny thing is, we aren’t even trying to improve pace or speed or distance. We are just going for 30 minutes: 2 Minute Run, 4 Minute Walk.

Tomorrow starts Week 2: 3 & 3 week! We are excited to get in that extra 5 minutes of run (total). Both of us felt like we could have done a 3 & 3 yesterday, but Katie kept me on track with our plan.
